Required folk custom fields
Field names and types must match exactly. Bidson validates the selected folk group before enabling preview or import and does not overwrite unrelated email addresses, phone numbers, or group memberships.
- Text fields: Shopify Customer ID, Shopify Store, Shopify Last Synced, Shopify Sync Origin, Shopify Import ID, Shopify Email, Shopify Phone, Shopify Currency, Shopify Last Order, Shopify Tags, Shopify Marketing Consent, Shopify Marketing State, Shopify Customer Since, Shopify Customer Updated At, Shopify Customer Locale, Shopify Customer City, Shopify Customer Region, and Shopify Customer Country.
- Number fields without currency formatting: Shopify Orders, Shopify Total Spent, Shopify Last Order Value, and Shopify Average Order Value.
Overview
Bidson CRM Sync brings Shopify customers and purchasing insights into your connected CRM, giving sales and customer teams an up-to-date customer view without manual exports. The app creates or matches contacts and automatically keeps selected customer, lifecycle, and commerce data current.
Attio, Close, and folk are supported. You choose one CRM for each Shopify store during setup.
The synchronization is designed for customer relationship work. It summarizes order history as customer insights, but does not create individual order records or replace Shopify, accounting, fulfilment, or order-management systems.
Requirements
- A Shopify store where you are permitted to install apps.
- An Attio, Close, or folk account where you can approve or provide the requested access.
- Access to Shopify customer and order data for the store being connected.
Setup
Synchronization remains paused until the required setup steps are complete. You can review connection and job health from the app dashboard at any time.
After the first full import completes, customer and order changes synchronize automatically. There is no routine export or manual synchronization to run; return to the dashboard only when you want status or the app reports that an action is required.
- Install and open Bidson CRM Sync from Shopify admin.
- Choose Attio, Close, or folk and connect the workspace, organization, or account you want to use.
- For Attio and Close, the app prepares required fields automatically. For folk, create the documented custom fields in the destination group before selecting it.
- Preview the initial customer import and review the expected impact.
- Run a test import or start the full import and automatic synchronization.
Data synchronized to your CRM
Order values use the Shopify store's currency. Refunds and cancellations update the customer totals when Shopify reports those changes.
Data groups can be configured before an import and apply to both imports and ongoing Shopify updates. Disabling a group stops future updates for that group; it does not remove values already stored in the CRM.
- Core identity and contact data: customer name, email address, phone number, Shopify customer identifier, store identifier, synchronization origin, import identifier, and last-synchronized time.
- Commerce insights (enabled by default): order count, total spent, average order value, last order date, and last order amount.
- Tags and marketing (enabled by default): customer tags and email-marketing consent state.
- Lifecycle data (enabled by default): customer-since date, last Shopify update, and locale or language.
- Location (optional and disabled by default): country, region, and city. Street addresses are never synchronized.
Matching and updates
A Shopify customer that was linked before is updated in the same CRM contact. When no link exists, the app can match an existing contact by email address before creating a new one.
New customer and order changes from Shopify are processed automatically. If Shopify or the connected CRM has a temporary problem, the app waits and tries again.
Plans and limits
The Free plan supports up to 50 unique linked Shopify customers per store. Customers linked before the limit is reached continue to receive updates, while additional customers require an upgrade. Premium costs USD 49 per month and provides unlimited customer synchronization, subject to reasonable platform and API limits. Subscription approval and billing are handled through Shopify.
Privacy and security
- The app does not intentionally keep complete raw copies of Shopify customers or orders.
- Access credentials for the connected CRM are encrypted before storage.
- Technical logs and support information exclude access credentials and complete customer data.
- Shopify's required privacy requests are supported.
Support
If synchronization needs attention, review the Activity page and include the displayed Support ID when contacting support. Do not send access tokens or unnecessary customer data.
